Bathrooms
Southend Construction have huge experience in the installation of complete bathrooms. We usually assume the role of project manager, overseeing every single aspect including, if required, assistance with design and logistics.
For example (pictured below) a recent challenging project involved converting what was an outside balcony into a luxury double shower room. We supervised the entire operation, from tile selection as well as fitting, to the creation of a bespoke triple-seal fibreglass-based shower tray along with helping the owners with glass block selection.
Brickwork
Southend Construction will build almost any kind of brick construction, such as a garden wall, a house extension or a new garage.
Brickwork is of course one of the most fundamental elements of property building, and we have many years’ experience in the field in a wide variety of applications
Carpentry
This is one of our specialist areas. In the examples shown here, you can see how we have designed, shaped and fitted an architrave to both sides of an opening in a dividing wall between a kitchen and living room. While in another case, we fitted a wall-to-wall set of wardrobes and matching cabinets to compliment an existing bedroom suite, including built-in lighting units to enhance the overall effect. In another of our examples here, we fitted a light-oak hardwood floor to a living room and newly built conservatory. We also supplied and fitted the French doors.
Double Glazing
Southend Construction offer an often surprising alternative to traditional double glazing companies! We supply and install all types of uPVC sealed-unit windows, French Doors and conservatories.
The surprise is that we usually charge a lot less than the ‘household name’ companies! Yet in many cases we supply exactly the same product from the same manufacturer. We have many years’ experience with all kinds of installations, so if you would like the same high quality you expect but at a price that you don’t, contact us today.

Extensions
Southend Construction have the experience and flexibility to build most types of house extension, such as loft conversions, dormers, garages, kitchen utility rooms and conservatories.
If necessary we can also assist and advise with regards to any planning permission applications that are often required before property extension work can commence.
Kitchens
It might be tempting to buy a kitchen from one of the big ‘household name’ companies, but did you know that you can have a kitchen of the same standard or better, and built to more personalised specifications, from Southend Construction.
The best part of all is that you will almost certainly save at least 20% in the process! You’ll get more than you expect, it will be completed on time and you’ll pay a lot less because we have no commission-only salesmen to worry about.
Painting
Southend Construction have extensive skills and experience in all aspects of interior painting and decorating, as well as external repairs and renovations. This will include all manner of applications, from painting of walls and ceilings to fitting and painting of dado rails and wallpaper hanging.
We have the ability to improvise projects well before completion, offering constructive suggestions and advice so as to make sure that the finished project is totally satisfactory both in terms of quality and style co-ordination.
Several of our customers who know us well often let us do more than paint the walls and hang the wallpaper - they ask us to choose the colours and styles for them!
Paving & Decking
Southend Construction have covered a lot of ground recently - with a wide variety of materials. Most projects involve block-paving or decking, the example to the right being a decked rear patio of a property that looks West over towards Hadleigh Castle. This particular sun-deck is over 70 square metres in area, and a traditional brick-built barbecue has been incorporated within it.
Garden patios can also be block-paved, an example of which is shown here. Because of the increase in popularity of decking, most block-paving projects tend to be for front driveways and for replacing front lawns to expand parking space.
